While plastic surgery may be more commonly associated with an older crowd, nonsurgical procedures among millennials are on the rise. It’s no secret that social media is a driving force for this trend. With overexposure to images that have been edited and filtered to perfection on social media, the standard of beauty has risen over the last few years.
In years past, plastic surgery was seen as something a celebrity might undergo as a way to drastically change their looks. However, the trend today with women in their 20s and 30s is to enhance their appearance while still looking as natural as possible. Through the use of Botox and other injectable fillers, many women are subtly enhancing their features to achieve their desired natural look.
While older individuals may seek out procedures in order to treat problem areas that have been caused by aging, the younger generation seeks to maintain their already youthful looks and prevent the earliest signs of aging. Today, many of the popular procedures can be achieved nonsurgically and with minimal downtime. In an ever increasingly fast-paced world, there’s nothing we love more than getting things done quickly. On the other hand, there’s something to be said for longer-term changes with actual plastic surgery when they’re appropriate and procedures like buttock lifts are never likely to come out of a syringe.
