Patient Testimonials

If you are an muscular guy who needs Lipo, my review should help you. So after consulting with most of the well-known (on Real Self) Men's lipo Doc's I chose Dr. Andrew Cohen. My situation - I'm athletic but I let myself go for a while, gained 30 lbs, and then got back in shape (lost it all) and maintain a great routine through ups and downs, for some time now. What's left is muscle and definition, buts it's concealed by a layer of fat all over the upper body. So what I need is pretty much straight contouring of the front, the sides, and the back. Who I met with in (order) - Stephen Bresnick, David Hansen, Gary Motykie, Mark Berkowitz, Andrew Cohen, Jason Emer, Ken Hughes, Sean Younai, Brent Molliken,
Let me just say first that I don't think you can go so wrong going with any of these guys. I chose them because they are all top notch, using the latest technology. All of the Dr's. I consulted with had great photos, thorough reviews, and/or excellent credentials, and I learned something from each of them. However none of those are a guarantee. Some proposed cheek implants, shoulder fat transfers, PRP, fully ablative C02 lasers, and more. In some cases I couldn't always tell who their best interest was. Some made me feel rushed, others charged an exorbitant amount that was so far out of range from the normal price for what an area costs on average. Others were fine, but there were a lot of aspects I needed to consider, and it was a careful, meticulous choice, and in the end, in all the common areas that I needed the Doctor to excel at, Cohen was the only one left. If you are curious or want to know more, you can message me.
Quite honestly after seeing Dr. Cohen I didn't really desire to see anyone else, (although a friend strongly suggested I see more). But, I could relate better to him, trusted his education, and his photos, which prove his capability which has a lot to do with the patient as well. His demeanor, the time he spent, and his level of accessibility stood out. He didn't recommend procedures I didn't need, and even turned down some that I thought that I did need. If there were more conservative and safer options, they were the first words out of his mouth. He let me know what he was comfortable with, and what he wasn't, and stated exactly what his goals were, and they lined right up with mine. He told me exactly how much fat, and how much fluid he would take. Also the fact that he's a guy, and I'm a guy, and we both work out was reassuring. One comforting thing with Cohen was that he had just so many friggin hand written thank you cards from patients on his website, and a large number of yelp reviews, not one of which was negative, which said a lot. It was a huge indicator for me.
But what really sealed the deal was his Coordinator Nikki. By this point I had had experiences with several coordinators. I learned things from Nikki about Dr. Cohen, the operation, and possibilities. I could tell she had been doing this for some time, based on how thorough her answers and overviews of everything was.
Sometimes, as good as the Dr. can be, if the coordinator is not every bit as good at his / her job, it would leave me wondering about one thing or another. I guess I wasn't expecting to learn more from a Coordinator than the research I'd done. I was left with more knowledge from her than I could get on my own on some things. In the end I was glad that I shopped around, because it only reinforced that I made the right choice and I wouldn't have known that if I didn't. She also was so serious in her sincerity as we got to know each other and I don't think that can't be bought. Anyway, I'd have just felt foolish going elsewhere after they were both done with me. That was the feeling I was left with, each time, not just the first, and I appreciate the consistency. Nikki is just another measure of how good Cohen is.
Hope that helps you in your journey, I'll post more pics after.
