Millicent Odunze, M.D., M.P.H.
As a female plastic surgeon, Dr. Odunze understands, firsthand, the challenge of the standards of beauty that are imposed on women. She is deeply aware of the fact that a woman’s self-image profoundly affects every aspect of her life. As a surgeon who treats both male and female patients in the entertainment industry, she understands the meaning of discretion and confidentiality, and understands the effect plastic surgery can have on a career. She extends this same attitude towards her non-celebrity patients as well – attorneys, law enforcement agents, educators, stay-at-home moms, fellow physicians, etc.
Dr. Odunze earned her Bachelor’s degree with honors from Harvard University and graduated from Duke University School of Medicine. While attending medical school, she simultaneously earned a Master’s degree in public health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, ranked one of the best Public Health programs in the nation. After medical school, Dr. Odunze completed a residency in plastic surgery at one of the premier plastic surgery training programs in the country, Northwestern University. After her residency, she refined her plastic surgery knowledge with a one-year advanced aesthetic plastic surgery fellowship in Beverly Hills.
During her seven-year residency at Northwestern University, Dr. Odunze trained in all aspects of plastic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Odunze has authored several scientific plastic surgery articles as well as a chapter in a plastic surgery text. As a volunteer with Operation Smile, she uses her skills to help provide free surgeries to repair cleft lip, cleft palate and other facial deformities for children around the globe.
