If you are considering plastic or cosmetic surgery, take our 4 step quiz:

Pectoral Implants

Pectoral implants, most frequently selected by men, are becoming an ever more popular choice to increase the appearance of chest muscles. Many candidates have tried through diet and exercise to increase chest muscle mass but are unable to develop the desired size and shape. Likewise, some people are attempting to correct a birth defect or the results from injury. Pectoral implants add volume to the chest because the solid silicone material is inserted behind the real muscle. Therefore, anyone considering the procedure should be aware that implants do not increase the amount of muscle definition. Muscle tone, body fat and skin elasticity contribute to the actual definition of the chest muscles. For more information about pectoral implants in Beverly Hills, contact us today.

As with all surgeries, possible candidates should be well informed, consider all risks and follow the advice of their physician before and after the surgery.

The solid silicone implants are very safe, flexible and durable. Many of the historical risks associated with silicone do not apply to solid silicone implants. Studies show no correlation between silicone and any diseases, and furthermore, the implants are not made of a gel. The size and shape is determined by you and the doctor. Only small incisions are made in order to insert and place the implant below the pectoral muscle.

You are encouraged to reduce the amount of chest workouts for one or two weeks prior to surgery, and for at least one month following surgery. The procedure is an outpatient surgery, allowing you to return to the comfort of your own home on the same day. Scarring is minimal and frequently well faded after four weeks.

Displacement, or movement, of the implant occurs in rare cases. Most times this is corrected very easily with a follow up procedure. Likewise, the removal of an implant is also a simple procedure that can be done if you are unhappy with the implant.

Standard pectoral implants are not a solution for irregular chest wall shape. Whether due to injury, or inherent since birth, uneven chest wall structures require more specialized procedures. A Beverly Hills Physician will be able to outline possible solutions to specifically address your needs. For more information contact us.
